They offer surrender services as well as adoption services for cats, birds, dogs, farm animals, horses, rabbits, reptiles & small animals within the Fairbanks Borough.

Anchorage Animal Care and Control 

AACC serves the entire municipality of Anchorage, from Girdwood to Eklutna. Pet owners are able to rehome or surrender an animal through them, or through services they provide (which can be found on the muni's website). AACC also offers adoption services, while they don't have reptiles often, it's worth it to check out their animals in need of homes!

Ethical Axolotls

One of the newest members of the herptile community, Ethical Axolotls is first and foremost, an axolotl husbandry education site. Their mission is to both provide excellent, well bred axolotls to pet parents everywhere, and to provide educated, loving pet parents for the axolotls to call family (or at least the person who the worm comes from). 


Matanuska-Susitna Borough Animal Shelter

The Mat-Su Animal Shelter provides a full service animal shelter for residents of the Mat-Su Borough. Its mission is to educate and inform the public of rights and responsibilities when it comes to animal care and ownership, and to provide assistance to the community and their pets (including exotics). For pets in shelter care, the Mat-Su Animal Care facility has a full time and licensed veterinarian, veterinary technician, and caring shelter staff to see to their wellbeing.
